Advancements in technology are constantly developing and it has changed society in the way we do things. I don't see any indication that new media is going to die out any time soon because it has made our lives just that much easier. What these new medias are is presenting the public with a platform that the user can use to express themselves creativity. Essentially new media is providing us with the tools and it is up to us as to what we want to do with the tools given. For instance, in the New York Times article, "Disney tolerates a Rap Parody of Its Critters. But Why?" by Brooks Barnes, people have been creating mash ups by taking clips from media like TV shows or music videos and combining it with clips from animations to create a whole new video. This is an example of how new media provides us with the tools and it is up to us as to how we want to use it to let our creativity roam. In the article, the tools given to the public is video editing tools and what the public decided to utilize it for is taking two things that already exist and creating something new out of it.
